NORMAN — Former Florida State and Georgia edge rusher Marvin Jones Jr. is expected to commit to OU, per a report Sunday from 247Sports.
Jones is a former five-star who was one of the top available players in the transfer portal. He has one season of eligibility remaining.
Jones is the No. 77 overall player and No. 11 edge rusher in 247Sports’ portal rankings. He finished the 2024 season with 25 tackles, six tackles for loss and four sacks in nine starts.

Jones can help an OU defensive ends room that is searching for depth after losing Ethan Downs, Trace Ford and Caiden Woullard, and hopes to return R Mason Thomas.
Prior to his time with the Seminoles, Jones appeared in 25 games in two seasons at Georgia. He recorded 16 tackles, 5.5 tackles for loss and two sacks with the Bulldogs.
Jones joined Georgia after starring at American Heritage in Florida. Jones was the No. 24 overall recruit in the 247Sports composite ranking for 2022.
Jones and Thomas could form a productive duo at defensive end in 2025. Thomas finished the 2024 season with 23 tackles, 13 tackles for loss and nine sacks.
