A former LSU quarterback is rising in the coaching world.

Lindsey Scott, who spent one year with LSU In 2016, is joining Texas Tech as quarterback’s coach. Scott got into coaching after a six-year college career that spanned five schools.

The news was first reported by 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz.

After his year with LSU, Scott transferred to East Mississippi Community College before joining Missouri. After Missouri, Scott transferred to Nicholls and returned to Louisiana.

For his final stop, Scott landed at Incarnate Word and had a successful career with the Colonels.

Scott is remembered as one of the best football players in Louisiana high school history. In 2015, he was the Gatorade Louisiana Football Player of the Year and won a state championship with Zachary. He won the class 5A MVP twice.

It’s always worth noticing when former LSU players on coaches with Louisiana ties begin ascending into coaching. These guys often have a way of ending up at LSU.

In his final season with Incarnate Word, Scott threw for 4,657 yards and 60 touchdowns.
