COLLEGE STATION — In December, Texas A&M football gained a commitment from former Texas Tech wide receiver Micah Hudson, as A&M has made it a point to add wide receiver talent in the transfer portal. However, just a little over a month later, the former Red Raider is currently away from the Aggies.
According to reports, Hudson is temporarily stepping away from the team’s day-to-day football activities.
There is no update on how long Hudson will be absent from the team, but it is believed he will still have a spot with the program if and when he does decide to return.
On3’s Pete Nakos was the first to report Hudson’s decision to step away.

Hudson was a five-star recruit in the 2024 class, according to 247 Sports, and finished his first season in college with eight receptions for 123 receiving yards with the Red Raiders.
The Temple native was the No. 4 prospect in the state of Texas, No. 5 nationally and the 25th prospect overall.
Despite leaving Texas Tech, Hudson is seen as a good fit for A&M as he gets to stay in his home state with the Aggies, while the Aggies add a talented player at a position of need.
In addition to Hudson, the Aggies have also added former North Carolina State star wideout KC Concepcion and former Mississippi State standout Mario Craver.
