Where Clemson, Dabo Swinney is ranked in final college football polls

This story will be updated.

CLEMSON — Clemson football finished No. 14 in the final AP poll released Tuesday, its highest finish since 2022.

The Tigers (10-4) received 712 points and no first-place votes to finish as the second-highest ranked ACC team. They ranked behind No. 12 SMU and ahead of No. 18 Miami and No. 20 Syracuse. Only one ACC team received votes out of the top 25: Louisville (38 points).

Clemson won the ACC championship to land an automatic bid to the expanded College Football Playoff. It lost to Texas on the road in the first round to end its season, but it snapped its three-season CFP absence.

Clemson’s offense showed vast improvement in quarterback Cade Klubnik’s second season as a full-time starter, scoring 34.7 points (18th in FBS). However, its defense regressed, allowing 23.4 points (51st) and struggling against the run to give up 160.6 yards (85th). The Tigers’ Achilles’ heel doomed them in the CFP, where they allowed a season-high 292 yards rushing and four rushing touchdowns.

Still, with all of its end-of-year starters who have eligibility remaining returning and Tom Allen leading Clemson’s defense as its new defensive coordinator, Clemson eyes a deeper CFP run next season.

Ohio State rose to No. 1 in the poll after winning the national championship, earning 1,400 points and all first-place votes.
