Gaffney football promotes offensive coordinator Donnie Littlejohn to replace Dan Jones

Gaffney announced the promotion of longtime offensive coordinator Donnie Littlejohn as its new football coach Tuesday.

Littlejohn replaces Dan Jones, who led Gaffney for over a decade and won two state titles.

Littlejohn has plenty of ties to Gaffney. He played football there as an offensive lineman and graduated in 1997.

Littlejohn played at Furman and later spent eight seasons as an assistant at Gaffney before becoming the offensive coordinator in 2010.

Littlejohn was the coordinator for Jones and before that was an assistant under Phil Strickland, who led Gaffney to three state titles.

Jones retired after the 2024 season.

Gaffney finished 10-2 and lost to Northwestern in the Upper State semifinals.
