All Saints stays in-house for its 12th head football coach in school history

WINTER HAVEN — Jason Smith arrived at All Saints with Stuart Weiss in 2017 to be the offensive coordinator. He now is replacing Smith and will be the 12th head coach in the school’s history.

All Saints athletic director Chad Moore, who took over the AD duties from Weiss last year, made the announcement on Tuesday.

Smith has been in Florida since 1979, living in the Riverview area, and graduated East Bay High School. He played one year of college football at UCF before an injury ended his football career.

This won’t be Smith’s first head coaching job. He started the program at Bell Creek in 2016 then followed Weiss, his defensive coordinator at Bell Creek, to All Saints in 2017 when Weiss became the athletic director and head football coach.

Jason Smith, who was the offensive coordinator, has been named the new football coach at All Saints.

Smith has been at All Saints ever since, except for the 2022 season when he coached in Idaho for a year before returning to All Saints.

Although his head coaching jobs have been at small schools, Smith also has experience at big schools. He was an assistant coach at Riverview prior to starting the Bell Creek program.

Smith likes the small school environment.

“Specifically, what I love about All Saints is that it’s so big on relationships,” he said. “The school I got to go to in Idaho had the smaller community feel. We had the same thing at Bell Creek. The families, the parents are invested. You get to really know the kids. When I coached at Riverview High School, I had 75 kids on my JV football team. It’s more boys than, than we’ve had in the school a couple of years ago.”

Smith will be full-time on campus…
