Jack Kelly is running it back at BYU.

The talented linebacker will return to the Cougars for his final season of eligibility in 2025, he announced Wednesday via social media.

In his first campaign in Provo after transferring from Weber State, Kelly led all BYU defenders with five sacks, 12 quarterback hurries, two forced fumbles and ranked second with 10 tackles for loss.

He also finished fifth on the team with 51 total tackles and even grabbed an interception in the Cougars’ regular season finale against Houston.

Kelly was eligible to declare for the NFL Draft, where ESPN analyst Mel Kiper Jr. had ranked him as the fifth-best outside linebacker in the upcoming draft class prior to the 2024 season.

Instead, the 6-foot-2, 240-pound Kearns native will return to BYU for his senior year and lead the Cougars’ defense alongside fellow linebackers Harrison Taggart and Isaiah Glasker along with defensive backs Evan Johnson and Tanner Wall.
