The Iowa Hawkeyes appear to be trending for a late add to their 2025 signing class.
Cornerback Jacob Wallace picked up an offer from Iowa defensive coordinator Phil Parker and the Hawkeyes on Thursday. The 5-foot-11, 175 pound defensive back is in Iowa City this weekend for an official visit.
247Sports national recruiting analyst Brian Dohn submitted a crystal ball prediction on Friday afternoon forecasting Wallace to eventually commit to the Hawkeyes.
Wallace is rated as a three-star out of DeMatha Catholic in Maryland per 247Sports. According to 247Sports, Wallace is the nation’s No. 69 safety, though Iowa sees him slotting in at cornerback. Wallace is ranked as the No. 28 player from Maryland.
In addition to Iowa, Wallace also holds offers from Akron, Central Michigan, Howard, Marshall, New Hampshire, Ohio, Temple, USF and West Virginia.
Viewed as a late-riser, Wallace could fit the mold of the latest Hawkeye development success story under Parker’s tutelage.
Iowa’s 2025 signing class is currently comprised of 15 signees. The Hawkeyes have inked three defensive backs in the class thus far.
If Wallace commits and signs with Iowa, he would join defensive backs Charles Bell out of St. Thomas More in Connecticut, O’Lontae Dean from Armwood High School in Florida and Drew MacPherson via Loyola Academy in Illinois.
