The 2025 NFL draft is approaching and players are looking to make an impression to scouts and general managers. Georgia Bulldogs defensive back Dan Jackson is already raising his draft stock.
Jackson stood out to his peers and was voted the best safety in practice by Senior Bowl wide receivers and tight ends. Alabama’s Malachi Moore, Oklahoma’s Billy Bowman, Texas Andrew Mukuba were the other safeties participating, but Jackson was voted as the top safety. He showed up and helped his draft stock over other All-SEC selections.
Jackson has NFL written all over him, but is still only projected as a Day 3 draft pick. He waited his turn at Georgia after coming in as a walk-on. He ended up becoming an impact player on Georgia’s 2024 defense that ranked inside of the nation’s top 20. Jackson is known for his willingness to tackle and play physically. He made a huge hit in Senior Bowl that had his name buzzing throughout social media.
This past season, he was third on Georgia with 64 tackles and had two interceptions (second-most on the team). He had very big moments in the Alabama game including an interception. In the Georgia Tech game, Jackson forced a fumble that helped with the UGA comeback victory.
