Throughout his time with the Oregon Ducks, head coach Dan Lanning has not only filled his coaching staff with great teachers but also great recruiters. Lanning’s first full recruiting class in Eugene ranked No. 9 in the nation, while the 2024 class ranked No. 4 and the 2025 class ranked No. 5. Clearly, the Ducks are doing something right in the recruiting world.
Of course, Lanning isn’t doing this by himself, though. He has a long list of elite recruiters and relationship builders working at his side, pulling in some of the best players in the nation.
One of those guys, defensive backs coach Chris Hampton, was recently recognized as the National Recruiter of the Year by 247Sports. Hampton is credited with landing four recruits — 5-star CB Na’eem Offord, 4-star CB Brandon Finney, 4-star CB Dorian Brew, and 5-star S Trey McNutt — and an 80.11 point total with a 98.13 average rating.
The crowning achievement was flipping Offord, the nation’s No. 3 CB, away from the Ohio State Buckeyes on Early National Signing Day.
Hampton was named the top recruiter over Texas Longhorns wide receiver coach Chris Jackson. He was also joined in the top-10 rankings by Oregon offensive line coach A’lique Terry, who was the primary for three offensive linemen in the Ducks’ 2025 class.
