On Monday, five experts from On3 submitted a recruiting prediction machine pick in favor of the Florida Gators for four-star defensive lineman Kendall Guervil (Ft. Myers, Florida) ahead of his July 2 commitment date.
Guervil is an elite defensive line recruit ranked anywhere from No. 77 to No. 269 nationally, depending on the recruiting service. Florida offered him in the summer between his freshman and sophomore year of high school and has had him high on its recruiting board for years.
While Texas has trended for Guervil in recent months, Georgia has also led his recruitment at times and Florida has a home-state advantage. While the feeling is that Florida has pulled out in front recently, there’s still plenty of time left before the announcement is made.
“NIL is certainly a factor at play late,” Blake Alderman of Gators Online said. “We hear that Florida and Texas have both been aggressive in using that in their approach to sway Guervil through the process. With a few days left until his July 2 commitment date, it’s possible to see some back-and-forth between these two programs.”
On3 vice president of recruiting and transfer portal Steve Wiltfong submitted a pick in favor of Texas a week ago, one day after Texas Insider did the same. Alderman’s pick was the second of five to come on Friday, starting with On3 director of recruiting Chad Simmons. Gators Online contributors Corey Bender and Keith Niebuhr followed suit within minutes, and Florida State insider Michael Langston snuck in one more pick by the end of Monday.

Guevil is a consensus four-star recruit ranked the highest by 247Sports at No. 77 nationally and No. 12 among defensive linemen in the class of 2026.
