4-star DL commits to Georgia over Ohio St. and South Carolina

Four-star defensive line recruit Pierre “PJ” Dean has announced his commitment to the Georgia Bulldogs over the South Carolina Gamecocks and Ohio State Buckeyes. He is a four-star defensive lineman from the class of 2026.

The 6-foot-5, 255-pound defensive lineman plays football for West Forsyth High School in Clemmons, North Carolina. He is ranked as the No. 7 defensive lineman and No. 66 prospect in the nation. Dean is the No. 6 recruit in North Carolina.

Dean’s older brother is former UGA center Jared Wilson, who was an All-SEC selection for the Bulldogs in 2024 after playing 12 games. Dean frequently visited Athens to watch him play. Wilson was selected in the third round of the 2025 NFL draft. Dean maintained a strong relationship with defensive line coach Tray Scott and offensive line coach Stacy Searels.

The Bulldogs’ 2026 class now has 26 commitments with Dean’s pledge on Monday, adding to defensive line commitments from Corey Howard, Seven Cloud, Carter Luckie, Khamari Brooks, and James Johnson on Sunday. UGA also added a commitment from three-star IMG Academy defensive lineman Preston Carey.

Georgia’s current defensive line includes a lot of new faces after the majority of the 2024 group left for the 2025 NFL draft. Junior Christen Miller, the most experienced player in Georgia’s defensive line room, will start at defensive end, while sophomore Jordan Hall figures to take the starting nose tackle spot. Junior Gabe Harris looks to be a starting edge rusher, while Army transfer Elo Modozie is projected to start in the outside linebacker spot.
