Things are ramping up in the 2026 recruiting cycle for the Oregon Ducks. Currently, Oregon boasts the top class of 2026 commits — with two 5-stars and six 4-stars committed — according to 247Sports recruiting rankings, but the Ducks are still looking to build on their early momentum.
On Monday, Steve Wiltfong, a top recruiting insider for On3Sports, reported that Oregon, along with Georgia and Penn State are the leaders to land Immanuel Iheanacho — one of the top players in the class of 2026.
Standing at 6 feet 6 inches and weighing in at nearly 350 pounds, Iheanacho is a consensus 5-star offensive tackle from Rockville, Maryland. 247Sports ranks him as the No. 2 OT in the class of 2026 and the No. 5 player overall. Jackson Cantwell, an OT from Missouri who is also uncommitted, is the only tackle ranked above Iheanacho.
Iheanacho has a long list of schools he’s still considering, and he won’t have to make his final decision until December 2025 if he chooses to sign with a school on Early National Signing Day. But in Wiltfong’s report, Iheanacho is quoted saying that there is a leader in the pack.
“Leader is still Oregon,” Iheanacho said to Wiltfong. “Oregon, Georgia, and Penn State. Those are my leaders.”
Iheanacho is also considering Alabama, Miami, Flordia, Texas A&M, LSU, and his home team Maryland Terrapins.
This offseason, Oregon is losing Josh Conerly and Ajani Cornelius, its two starting offensive tackles from 2024, to the NFL Draft. For 2025, the Ducks have looked to the transfer portal to fill those holes. Nevada transfer Isaiah World and Texas State transfer Alex Harkey are Oregon’s 2025 projected OT starters, but neither will have eligibility after 2025. To establish year-to-year continuity on the O-line, the addition of young tackles like Iheanacho could be crucial.
If Iheanacho does choose Oregon,…
