Nebraska football is in the top group for class of 2026 linebacker Tony Williams. Williams posted his Top 12 on Monday afternoon.
Miami, North Carolina State, Louisville, Georgia Tech, Illinois, Missouri, SMU, Indiana, Pittsburgh, Wake Forest, and Iowa State also round out his top 12.
Williams is from Jacksonville, Florida, and is a three-star prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings. He has also accumulated 23 offers during the recruiting process. He most recently received an offer from the Bethune-Cookman on February 3.
Williams had a stellar season for Raines High School last year. He played in 13 games and recorded 101 total tackles and six sacks on the season. He also tallied two pass deflections, as he had a nose for the football all year. He averaged seven tackles per game in 2024, per statistics from Maxpreps.
The Huskers have been searching the state of Florida for talent over the last couple of classes. The linebacker position has been one of strength, especially when looking at the current roster. Dawson Merritt and Christian Jones headline the 2025 class, so there is talent to be had. Getting a player like Raines would undoubtedly help continue the youth movement on the unit.
