Jordan King, Brayden Henderson lead honorees on TSWA Class 2A all-state football team

Strong seasons from Refugio and Three Rivers were rewarded Monday on the 73rd annual Blue Bell/Texas Sports Writers Association Class 2A all-state football team.

The powerhouse Bobcats earned two first-team selections on the team: senior guard Brayden Henderson and senior running back Jordan King.

Henderson graded out at 97% with 49 pancakes and did not alow a sack this season.

King ran for 2,349 yards and 40 touchdowns in 13 games, averaging better than 14 yards a car.

Three Rivers senior guard Chris Turner nabbed second team accolades.

The Coastal Bend had three players named to the third team: junior linebackers Zander Wills (Refugio) and James Contreras (Three Rivers) along with senior defensive back Xavier Carranza from Three Rivers.

The Bulldogs’ 9-2 campaign also earned three players honorable mention on the team: senior wide receiver Jason Galey, senior quarterback Cody Sells and senior defensive lineman Grant Dragon.

Ganado quarterback Bryce Ullman ans Stamford linebacker Kaston Vega were the offensive and defensive players of the year.
