Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman wins yet another coach of the year award

It’s pretty safe to say that Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman officially introduced himself to the college football world in 2024.

He led the Irish to a College Football Playoff runner-up, as they showed all year that Notre Dame belonged with the country’s elite programs. With all of the team’s success, Freeman has been named the Paul “Bear” Bryant Coach of the Year, the Dodd Trophy Coach of the Year, and the George Munger Coach of the Year.

You’d think that was an impressive haul, and then on Friday evening, he added yet another honor as the National Coalition of Minority Football Coaches named him its Coach of the Year as well.

In his third year with Notre Dame, Freeman has a 33-10 record, 4-2 in bowls and a 3-1 in the CFP. The future is extremely bright in South Bend with him at the helm, and 2025 shouldn’t be any different than what we have seen from the 4-time Coach of the Year award winner.
