Georgia football flipped from its 14-game 2024 season after the Jan. 2 Sugar Bowl to the offseason.
That meant coaches turned their attention to roster management and recruiting to line up talent for the next Signing Day in December for the 2026 class.
Players started up winter workouts.
There was down time this month.
Defensive coordinator Glenn Schumann told Fox 5 in Atlanta he was getting away to Mexico earlier this month with his wife to hang out with good friend and now Oregon coach Dan Lanning and his wife and others.
Now, spring practice is only weeks away.

Spring practice dates
Georgia hasn’t announced dates yet for spring practice but it typically begins the Tuesday after the university’s spring break. That would be Tuesday March 11. Kirby Smart’s team has used a Tuesday-Thursday-Saturday schedule for its 15 spring practices.
Pro Day
Georgia’s Pro Day is slated for Wednesday March 12. That’s when 17 scholarship players and some walk-ons will try to improve their draft stock before representatives from NFL teams.
G-Day
Again, no announcement yet, but the spring practice schedule would lead to a G-Day on Saturday April 12. Spring games may fade away in a new era of college football, but there’s no indication yet it’s going away for Georgia.
Spring transfer portal window
Will Georgia go shopping again to upgrade some positions? It certainly will look to see who’s out there and of course some on the current roster could choose to make a move of their own after going through spring practices.
The spring transfer portal period runs from April 16 to 25.
