The Georgia Bulldogs lost four of their five starting offensive linemen to the 2025 NFL draft. Georgia is looking to revamp its offensive line this spring following the departures of starting center Jared Wilson, guard Tate Ratledge, guard Dylan Fairchild and tackle Xavier Truss.
Georgia ran for an average of 124.4 yards per game (second-to-last in the SEC) in 2024. The Bulldogs need to be more effective rushing the football in 2025.
Last year, Georgia allowed 25 sacks, which ranks No. 57 (tied) in the nation. Georgia allowed just 13 sacks in 2023 , which No. 8 (tied) in the nation.
Georgia’s offensive line disappointed in 2024 especially when considering the amount of NFL draft talent UGA had. However, 2025 sets up to be a bit a more advantageous for the offensive line unit. Georgia opens the season with Marshall and Austin Peay, so the new unit will have some time to mesh together before playing on the road against Tennessee on Sept. 13. Georgia’s schedule is a little bit easier than it was in 2024. UGA plays Alabama, Texas and Ole Miss at home instead of on the road, which is very helpful for offensive linemen.
Georgia’s returning offensive line
Georgia returns four pretty experienced offensive linemen. The Bulldogs are hoping to get a bounce back year from rising redshirt junior offensive tackle Earnest Greene, who battled injuries throughout the 2024 college football season. Greene has appeared in 24 games in his Georgia career including 23 starts. It is unclear if he will start at left or right tackle, but he is UGA’s most experienced returning lineman.
Georgia also returns rising redshirt junior center Drew Bobo, who is the son of Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo. Drew Bobo has 20 career appearances for the Bulldogs including two starts. He is expected to start at center.
