With an eye toward the future, the Colorado Buffaloes are trending well with class of 2026 quarterback and former West Virginia commit Brodie McWhorter.
Only about three weeks after receiving an offer from the Buffs, McWhorter revealed his top seven schools on Thursday and Colorado made the cut. The four-star QB (247Sports composite) is also considering the Mountaineers, Wisconsin Badgers, Syracuse Orange, Indiana Hoosiers, Auburn Tigers and Mississippi State Bulldogs, according to 247Sports’ Tom Loy.
McWhorter is a 6-foot-2, 205-pound junior at Cass High School in Georgia and the No. 24 quarterback nationally, per the 247Sports composite rankings.
Loy reported that McWhorter has official visits scheduled with six of his top seven schools. McWhorter will check out the Buffs during spring practices (April 9-12) before taking an official visit to Boulder from June 13-15.
All signs point to Julian “JuJu” Lewis being Colorado’s starting quarterback in 2026, but head coach Deion Sanders and his staff have remained vigilant in recruiting the most important position in football. Class of 2026 quarterback Oscar Rios will reportedly visit the Buffs in June, and Colorado recently offered Clemson Tigers commit Tait Reynolds.
