Quarterbacks will take the field for athletic testing and positional work at the 2025 NFL Combine on Saturday. Top prospects Cam Ward and Shedeur Sanders opted out of participating. That matters little to the Seattle Seahawks, who are more likely to draft a mid-round QB.
The Seahawks plan to sign Geno Smith to an extension this offseason, but drafting a potential successor is also within the realm of possibility. General manager John Schneider will pay close attention to Saturday’s quarterback workouts at the combine. We’ve identified three in particular worth monitoring.
Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss
The Seahawks met with Jaxson Dart at the NFL combine. There have been rumors that Dart may be well-positioned to be a shocking selection in the first round. If Seattle executes a shocker at No. 18 overall, it may be by drafting the Ole Miss signal caller.
Kyle McCord, Syracuse
Kyle McCord was among the most impressive quarterbacks at this year’s college all-star circuit, thriving at the East-West Shrine Bowl. McCord was so effective for Syracuse this past season after transferring to the program from Ohio State, throwing for 4,779 yards and 34 touchdowns. He should put on a show during throwing drills.
Tyler Shough, Louisville
Tyler Shough battled injuries and adversity throughout his college football career, but he was healthy and effective throughout 2024. Shough threw for 23 touchdowns and 3,195 yards. The Louisville quarterback should be a standout performer during Saturday’s drills.
