One area where Michigan football has not struggled whatsoever to recruit is safety. The Wolverines brought in three top-flight safeties last recruiting cycle with four-stars Kainoa Winston, Elijah Dotson, and Jordan Young all pledging to the maize and blue. Entering 2026, Michigan hopes to keep that momentum going.
One elite safety, despite looking like an Ohio State lean at this juncture, is looking to pay a visit to Ann Arbor soon to see what the Wolverines have to offer. According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, 2026 Jacksonville (Fla.) Bolles School four-star safety Simeon Caldwell is planning to make it to campus for a spring visit on March 22.
Of course, with several visits to Ohio State on deck, the Buckeyes loom large. But he also has two visits set up to USC as well as a visit to Georgia, and official visits to Miami and Notre Dame.
While at a different school, Michigan does have a commitment already from the city of Jacksonville in fellow defensive back Brody Jennings, who attends Mandarin High School.
