Oklahoma Sooners 2026 QB commit visiting SEC powerhouse

The Oklahoma Sooners 2026 recruiting class is just four players deep at the moment. And all on the offensive side of the ball. Currently, the highest rated player in the class is four-star quarterback Jaden O’Neal. O’Neal, who originally hails from California, recently transferred to finish his high school career at Mustang High School in Mustang, Oklahoma.

O’Neal has been committed to the Sooners since June of 2024, but that commitment has been uneasy for the last couple of months. With a new offensive coordinator, Ben Arbuckle, the Sooners offered four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley. Though the Sooners are looking to have multiple quarterbacks in the class, it’s understandable that a quarterback as talented as Jaden O’Neal might entertain other suitors.

In recent months, he’s received some big-time offers, including one from the Georgia Bulldogs. In a report today from Dawgs HQ’s Rusty Mansell and Steve Wiltfong of On3, the Sooners commit is expected to visit the Georgia Bulldogs on Monday to attend spring practice.

O’Neal wasn’t in attendance at the Future Freaks weekend the Sooners just hosted, but Bentley was. Oklahoma has had players take visits while staying committed, but it could be a sign that the commitment is softening. There may be a shifting of the sands in both O’Neal’s interests and the Sooners’ direction at quarterback in the 2026 cycle.
