4-star OL announces decommitment from Oregon Ducks

The Oregon Ducks lost one of the many blue-chip commits that they have in the 2026 recruiting class on Monday morning, with 4-star offensive lineman Bott Mulitalo announcing that he is opening back up his recruitment.

Mulitalo is rated by 247Sports as the No. 90 overall player in the 2026 class, and the No. 8 offensive tackle. He had been committed to Oregon since December of 2024. When Mulitalo initially committed to the Ducks, he planned to play defensive line at Oregon, but in the last few months, he’s changed his priority to the O-line — a material change that has caused him to reconsider his recruitment, according to a recent 247Sports report.

Hailing from outside of Salt Lake City, Mulitalo is one of the top recruits in his home state, and as such, the Utah Utes and BYU Cougars are two of his top schools. According to the same 247Sports report, his candidates also include Washington, Oklahoma State, and USC.

Mulitalo isn’t the Oregon Ducks’ only recent decommittment. Less than a month ago, 4-star quarterback Jonas Williams decommitted from the Ducks, and flipped his choice to the USC Trojans. As premier West Coast schools, Oregon and USC are often embroiled in recruiting battles, and although Oregon has held the edge for the last several seasons, the Trojans are gathering momentum this cycle.

Losing a blue-chip recruit is never good, but losing a guy that could’ve been a difference-maker at two key positions stings a little extra. Fortunately for Dan Lanning and the Ducks, Oregon has a strong future along the defensive line and offensive line, with a litany of young talented linemen already in their program.
