BREAKING: Wisconsin beats two Big Ten rivals for commitment from 2026 wide receiver

Wisconsin football landed a commitment from three-star class of 2026 wide receiver Tayshon Bardo on Tuesday.

Bardo chose the Badgers over top contenders Indiana, Cincinnati, Vanderbilt and Michigan State. He had scheduled June visits to Wisconsin, Michigan State and others. If those visits occur, it’ll be with him committed to the Badgers’ class of 2026.

247Sports ranks the 6’1″ wide receiver as the No. 651 player in the class of 2026, No. 103 player at his position and No. 6 recruit from his home state of Indiana. Bardo’s home state makes it noteworthy that Wisconsin edged out the suddenly-resurgent Hoosiers to land his commitment.

Bardo is the second committed member of Wisconsin’s class of 2026, joining three-star offensive lineman Benjamin Novak. The group already had two commitments for several months late last year, though three-star quarterback Jarin Mock decommitted after changes to Wisconsin’s offensive staff — Phil Longo’s firing and the subsequent hire of new coordinator Jeff Grimes.

The program has numerous visits scheduled for the busy June recruiting season. Bardo should be one of several recruits committed to Wisconsin’s class by that date.

Luke Fickell and his staff are working to replicate consecutive top-25 finishes in the class of 2024 and 2025 cycles. It’s far too early to begin to project the program’s class of 2026 performance, even with Bardo’s commitment.

Wisconsin does enter the busiest time on the recruiting calendar with a new general manager…
