Another day, another pair of Alabama football champions added to Scott Cochran’s staff at West Alabama.
West Alabama announced that former Alabama running back Bo Scarbrough would join the staff as the team’s director of high school relations, and former Alabama defensive tackle Damion Square, who spent nine seasons in the NFL, as defensive line coach.
Scarbrough won two national championships at Alabama in 2015 and 217, and finished his career with 1,512 yards and 30 touchdowns.
“Bo’s experience and passion for player development will be invaluable as our new Director of High School Relations,” Cochran said in a statement.

Square will hold his first coaching job at West Alabama after winning three national championships with the Crimson Tide in 2010, 2012 and 2013. He finished his career with 93 tackles, 19 tackles-for-loss and 7.5 sacks.
Square played for the Philadelphia Eagles, Kansas City Chiefs, Los Angeles Chargers, Cleveland Browns, New Orleans Saints, Chicago Bears, Las Vegas Raiders and Cincinnati Bengals in the NFL.
“Damion’s expertise and leadership on the defensive line will greatly enhance our team’s performance,” Cochran said in a statement.
Cochran also added former Alabama tight end OJ Howard (director of player development), former Alabama quarterback Blake Sims (wide receivers coach), former Crimson Tide defensive back and running back Ronnie Clark (running backs coach) and former Alabama long snapper Scott Fletcher (special teams coordinator).
West Alabama will open the 2025 season against Fort Valley State in Birmingham.
