Chad Bowden and USC land four-star defensive lineman Jaimeon Winfield

USC football recruiting rolls on

USC already has the No. 1 recruiting class in the country for the 2026 cycle. On Friday morning, that class got even better, as the Trojans landed another massive addition: four-star defensive lineman Jaimeon Winfield.

Winfield is a native of Richardson, Texas. 247Sports Composite ranks him as the No. 85 overall player and the No. 8 defensive lineman in the class of 2026.

In recent weeks, Winfield had been trending towards Texas. However, the Trojans swooped in from left field and made a push, ultimately landing his commitment, and leaving Longhorns fans a bit stunned.

Landing Winfield is just the latest instance of USC flexing its muscles on the recruiting trail with new general manager Chad Bowden. Over the past month or so, the Trojans have finally begun to recruit the way that they were expected to upon hiring Lincoln Riley in November of 2021. Although USC fans are frustrated that it took so long, they are certainly glad to see the program finally acting the way that it is supposed to.

This is what USC football recruiting is expected to achieve. The Trojans have their House of Troy in order. Finally.
