There are a number of questions surrounding Florida State football as the Seminoles prepare to start spring practice Wednesday.

With a host of new players, coaches and schemes, how will the Seminoles improve from last season’s disaster?

It’s the burning question that has fueled the offseason for the program.

Head coach Mike Norvell brought in Gus Malzahn as offensive coordinator and Tony White as defensive coordinator, along with a haul of new position coaches.

While the Seminoles seemingly improved on paper, the approaching spring practice is the first time the new-look team will have the chance to showcase any improvements.

As FSU buffs the helmets and sets out the equipment in preparation for spring ball, here are three questions we have heading into the practice period.

What does the quarterback position look like with Tommy Castellanos?

Let’s start with the obvious. What does the quarterback position look like?

It was no secret that the Seminoles struggled at the quarterback position last season, with DJ Uiagalelei, Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek all taking turns in trying to lead the offense. More often than not, those attempts ended in failure.

In comes Boston College transfer Tommy Castellanos. He is expected to be the Seminoles signal caller, with Glenn the only remaining quarterback who started last year. Uiagalelei declared for the NFL draft and Kromenhoek opted to transfer to Mississippi State.

Castellanos comes in and pairs well with Malzahn’s offense. The two have prior experience with each other during the quarterback’s one year at UCF before transferring to Boston College.
