LSU football added the first five-star to its 2026 recruiting class on Wednesday. Wide receiver Tristen Keys committed to the Tigers over the likes of Tennessee and Alabama. According to On3 and 247Sports, Keys is the No. 1 ranked wide receiver in the class of 2026.
Keys was the seventh commit of the cycle. Of LSU’s seven 2026 commits, three are wide receivers. LSU already picked up blue-chip pledges from Jakai Anderson and Kenny Darby, both Louisiana prospects.
To get Keys, LSU went into Mississippi. Brian Kelly’s staff has had good luck recruiting LSU’s neighboring state. In 2024, LSU signed cornerback PJ Woodland. In 2025, the Tigers added Mississippi offensive lineman Tyler Miller.
LSU has a chance to finish with the No. 1 overall class in 2026. The Tigers were in a similar position last year until the flips of five-star recruits Bryce Underwood and Dakorien Moore. LSU will look to avoid a similar fate in 2026.

LSU’s class is a consensus top-five group now. On3, 247Sports, and Rivals don’t have LSU as No. 1 in their own rankings, but the Tigers end up in the top spot in the On3 Industry Rankings. The Industry Rankings are essentially a composite of all major recruiting services.
Per the On3 Industry Ratings, only Texas’s class has a higher average recruit rating.
