Over the weekend, 5-star quarterback Jared Curtis teased a major announcement on his social media. While fans wondered whether it would be a commitment or the announcement of a commitment date, fans waited anxiously to see what the No. 1 QB in the 2026 class would say.
On Monday morning, Curtis announced that he has set a commitment date for May 5, 2025. He will choose between the Oregon Ducks and Georgia Bulldogs.
Curtis, a 6-foot-4, 225-pound passer, is rated by the 247Sports Composite as the No. 2 overall player in the 2026 class and the No. 1 QB in the nation. He took a visit to Eugene earlier in March and was scheduled to take an official visit in June. He also took a trip to Georgia this past month as well.
This has been a long recruitment for Oregon and Curtis, who was previously committed to Georgia before opening things back up at the end of last year. Led by a strong relationship with offensive coordinator Will Stein, the style of offense that is played in Oregon is said to be appealing to Curtis throughout the process, as is the development that has been displayed with guys like Bo Nix, Dillon Gabriel, and now Dante Moore.
In his junior year at Nashville Christian, Curtis completed over 70 percent of his passes for 2,830 yards and 40 touchdowns, with just three interceptions. He also rushed for 637 yards and 18 touchdowns.
There is still over a month to go before Curtis makes his official decision, but Oregon fans seem to feel good about where things stand at the moment. A lot can happen in that amount of time, though, so this will be an interesting one to keep an eye on over the next month.
