Alabama football has added another cornerback in the 2026 recruiting class.
Jorden Edmonds, a five-star cornerback out of Marietta, Georgia, announced Wednesday his commitment to the Crimson Tide. Edmonds picked Alabama over programs like Tennessee, Georgia, Oklahoma and Florida.
Edmonds joins a class that includes Gadsden City four-star cornerback Zyan Gibson, Harvest defensive end Jamarion Matthews and Atlanta three-star offensive lineman Chris Booker.
“I’m a top priority,” Edmonds told the Tuscaloosa News in February. “Every time I come up there, every time they even come up here, they just stress (that) I’m a top priority for them and they want me to come up there.”
Edmonds is the No. 27 player in the country per 247Sports’ composite rankings, per 247Sports, and is the No. 1 ranked cornerback in the 2026 class.
Edmonds is the first No. 1-ranked cornerback to join Alabama’s recruiting class since the Crimson Tide signed Patrick Surtain II in 2018.

Another recruiting class, another long corner.
Edmonds, standing at 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, fits the mold of what has turned into the prototypical Maurice Linguist corner, similar in stature to 2025 five-star cornerback Dijon Lee.
Like Lee, Edmonds has length and physicality, using his range to attack the ball in coverage, who uses his hands to eliminate receivers that may be shorter and twitchier than him at the line of scrimmage.
With Edmonds, Alabama restarts its recruiting momentum in Kalen DeBoer’s all-too-important second recruiting class with the Crimson Tide, heading into a summer where high-profile recruits – especially inside the state of Alabama – remain up for grabs.
