3-star Texas wide receiver Caleb Smith commits to Arizona football

Arizona is in the middle of spring practice, but at the same time it’s hosting a slew of recruits from the 2026 class and beyond. One of those visitors already saw enough to decide Tucson is where he wants to play college football.

The UA has landed a commitment from 3-star wide receiver Caleb Smith, the fourth member of its 2026 recruiting class.

he 5-foot-8, 160-pound Smith is ranked by 247Sports as the No. 735 player in the 2026 class, as well as the No. 119 wide receiver in the country and the 99th-best prospect from Texas. He plays for Allen High School, where he also runs track and as a sprinter and long jumper, and has recorded a 100-meter time of 10.6 to earn the nickname ‘Jet.’

Smith picked the UA over offers from Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, Kansas, Louisville, Mississippi State, Nebraska, Texas Tech and Utah, among others.

He is the second wide receiver commit for Arizona in the 2026 class, along with 3-star in-state prospect Hamisi Juma, and first from Texas. The Lone Star State was a big part of the 2025 class, producing nine prep signees.
