Oklahoma State football adds South Carolina transfer Wendell Gregory

STILLWATER — Oklahoma State went in a more youthful direction for its most recent addition from the college football transfer portal.

Wendell Gregory, a 6-foot-3, 245-pound edge rusher from South Carolina, will be a redshirt freshman in the fall after appearing in two games last season in the Southeastern Conference.

A linebacker and track standout in high school, Gregory moved to edge rusher at South Carolina, and looks like an ideal fit in the outside linebacker role of new OSU coordinator Todd Grantham.

Once a four-star recruit out of Walton High School in Marietta, Georgia, Gregory had a long list of college options, picking South Carolina over Tennessee, Missouri, Auburn, North Carolina, Michigan, Southern Cal and others.

He comes to OSU with four years of eligibility remaining, and the opportunity to compete for playing time immediately.
