Pair of ‘schools to watch’ emerge for UGA transfer WR Nitro Tuggle

Georgia Bulldogs sophomore wide receiver Nitro Tuggle already has a pair of schools that may be interested in his services. Tuggle, who recently entered the transfer portal, is a former four-star recruit.

247Sports’ Tom Loy notes that the Indiana Hoosiers and Syracuse Orange are two “schools to watch” for the Georgia pass catcher. If Tuggle transferred to Indiana, then he would be staying home.

Tuggle, who was born in Goshen, Indiana, played high school football for Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana. He was the No. 3 ranked recruit in Indiana in the class of 2024.

In 2024, Tuggle played in eight games and posted three catches for 34 yards as a true freshman. Tuggle caught two passes for 25 yards against the Tennessee Volunteers and showed a lot of promise.

Tuggle contemplated entering the transfer portal after the SEC championship, but ultimately elected to return to UGA. He played in Georgia’s Sugar Bowl defeat to Notre Dame, but did not record a catch.

This spring, Tuggle was arrested for reckless driving and later suspended for the remainder of spring practice and did not appear in Georgia’s spring game. Tuggle and offensive lineman Marques Easley were the first Georgia players to be suspended for reckless driving incidents in recent memory. Head coach Kirby Smart’s change in policy could be a major factor in why both players entered the portal this spring.

Running back Branson Robinson is the other Georgia football player in the transfer portal right now.
