After entering on the opening day of the transfer portal, the former Colorado Buffaloes safety committed to Georgia Tech.The Georgia native heads home to play for the Yellow Jackets, whom the Buffs play in Boulder in week one of the 2025 season. Georgia Tech will mark its fourth program after previously being at Vanderbilt and Miami before CU.Riley spent two years at Vanderbilt before transferring to Colorado last summer after a spring with the Hurricanes. He tallied 48 tackles in his redshirt freshman season in 2023 before entering the portal.He played in nine games for the black and gold and tallied 12 total tackles and one tackle for loss. He played a total of 77 snaps at safety. Most of his playing time came in the Buffs’ 2024 week one game against North Dakota State, when starting safety Cam’Ron Silmon-Craig went out with an injury.However, he got most of his work on special teams, where he played 85 snaps on kickoff, kickoff return, punt return and field goal block.He joins a Yellow Jacket defense that added another defensive back earlier this week.
