WEST LAFAYETTE − Purdue football added to its offensive playmakers and added to its all-name team in one fell swoop.
Former Georgia receiver NiTareon “Nitro” Tuggle is transferring to the Boilermakers, On3’s Hayes Fawcett first reported.
Tuggle is a former four-star recruit by 247Sports, who ranked No. 102 nationally in the recruiting site’s Class of 2024.
The Goshen native, who starred at NorthWood, is the second Indiana high school receiver product to join Purdue via the transfer portal in the spring window, joining former Tulsa receiver Corey Smith (Brownsburg).
As a high school senior, Tuggle caught 95 passes for 1,449 yards and 19 touchdowns, helping NorthWood to a Class 4A state runner-up finish.
Tuggle was suspended by Georgia coach Kirby Smart after he was arrested in March for reckless driving. Tuggle was pulled over for going 107 in a 65 mile per hour zone.
As a freshman last season, Tuggle caught three passes for 34 yards, including two for 25 in a win over Tennessee. Tuggle entered the transfer portal in December before returning to Georgia. He is the third former Georgia receiver to transfer to Purdue in the last two seasons, joining De’Nylon Morrissette and CJ Smith. Smith has since transferred to Memphis.
