Which players from this list should the Texans target?
Through two days of the 2025 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans have had a pretty normal draft. Well, normal to their standards.
Since Nick Caserio touched down in 2021, the Texans have only had four picks in the first round. That remained the same in 2025 after Houston made a deal with the New York Giants to move back nine spots and pick up a second and two third-round picks.
Much like in 2021, 2022 and 2024, the Texans made trades. Three of the first major moves in H-Town came via a card being turned in at a pick not initially owned by the team. Still, the Texans improved with the additions of Iowa State wide receivers Jayden Higgins and Jaylin Noel, Minnesota offensive tackles Aireontae Ersery and USC defensive back Jaylin Smith.
Heading into the final day of the draft, there are still plenty of quality players available – led by Colorado quarterback Shedeur Sanders. He’s experienced a free fall down the board, with Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and even Dillon Gabriel all going ahead of him.
The Texans have fives picks remaining in the draft, four of which are in the three of which are in the sixth round. They’ll get things started on Saturday with the 167th overall selection and wrap up the day at No. 255, a pick they acquired from the Browns in a trade made before the draft started.
Here are the 99 best available players, according to the consensus big board put together by Arif Hasan. The Texans will probably pass on all quarterbacks and potentially defensive backs since they set at both spots. A wide receiver shouldn’t be in play, but if the right option is there, Caserio won’t say no. Every other position will be in play.
