The dust is still settling on the 2025 NFL draft, but in Bill Belichick fashion, we are onto next year. And just like we hear every year, it seems that next year’s quarterback class will be better. It would be hard pressed to be worse than what we saw with the top of the 2025 group of gunslingers.
Some of the players on the way-too-early preliminary list are underclassmen who could very well return for another season, such as Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning. But until he and others officially make that announcement next offseason, they will be included in our list.
There are a total of seven quarterbacks on our early list to keep an eye on. On the other side of the ball, one of the top underclassmen is looking to take the ball away. Caleb Downs will be eligible for the NFL draft in 2026 after two stellar seasons with the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Ohio State Buckeyes. What more can he prove in the upcoming season?
This list will continue to be updated and expanded in the coming weeks following the draft as evaluations ramp up for next year’s class. For now, here are the 50 players fans need to know ahead of the 2025 college football season.
