Recruiting Roundup: Huskies Host An Impressive Group Of Visitors

Happy Sunday Husky fans. The Huskies kicked off their official visit season with 4 official visitors on campus this weekend.

4 star running back Brian Bonner from Valencia HS, CA headed up to Montlake this weekend to check out the Huskies. Rated as the 6th best running back in the country, Bonner is looking at Notre Dame, Penn State, Nebraska, and UCLA (along with UW). The Huskies have been one of the favorites for Bonner for a while and right now I suspect it’s a Notre Dame and UW battle. Last season Bonner carried the rock 197 times for 1,493 yards and 25 touchdowns.

The Huskies hosted another 4 star prospect from California in Sam Utu from Orange Lutheran HS, CA. Rated as the 8th best interior offensive lineman in the country Utu holds offers from around the country including Texas and USC. Utu is listed at 6’4” and around 320 pounds and has the size and frame to plate early for UW. The Huskies got the first shot at hosting Utu for an official visit and it sounds like UW might be a dark horse candidate in his recruitment. The Huskies already have 5 star offensive tackle Kodi Greene and if they can add Utu to the class they will have a solid start to their offensive line class.

4 star wide receiver, and current Auburn commit, Denairius Gray from Chaminade Madonna HS, FL made his way up to Seattle. The Huskies are trying to add some size and speed to their wide receiver and Gray has both. Listed at 6’2” and around 180 pounds, Gray had 44 catches for 709 yards and 11 touchdowns last season. Gray has been committed to Auburn since January of 2024 but it looks like he’s opening his recruitment and looking at UW. It will be interesting to what happens in his recruitment over the next couple of weeks.

The last official visitor who made his way up to campus this last weekend was 3 star offensive tackle…
