Colorado football transfer wide receiver Hykeem Williams commitment

Colorado head coach Deion Sanders is stacking his wide receiver room once again.

Former Florida State wide receiver Hykeem Williams committed to Colorado on Tuesday. A former five-star recruit, Williams was ranked as the No. 5 wide receiver in the transfer portal according to 247Sports. He joins the Buffs with two years of eligibility remaining.

Williams joins Sincere Brown as the two wide receivers added during the spring transfer window. He’s also the third receiver of the offseason overall as the Buffs added Tulsa transfer Joseph Williams last winter.

The 6-foot-2, 215-pound sophomore was ranked 24th in ESPN’s 300 in the 2023 recruiting class, but didn’t see much action in his two years with the Seminoles. In 2024, he tallied 187 yards and a touchdown on only 16 receptions. In Williams’ freshman season, he had five receptions for 80 yards and one touchdown, with most of it coming on a 44-yard score against Syracuse.

Colorado lost Travis Hunter, Jimmy Horn Jr., LaJohntay Wester and Will Sheppard to the NFL this spring, leaving room for Coach Prime to add a wide receiver.

Williams joins a Colorado wide receiver group loaded with potential stars. With his blend of size and speed, offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur and Sanders have the tools to develop him into a standout player over the next two years.
