Michigan State football is the latest major school to extend an offer to an underrated cornerback prospect from North Carolina.
Kosci Barnes of Greensboro, N.C. announced on Tuesday that he’s received an offer from the Spartans. Barnes made the offer known by posting on his social media X account.
Barnes is an unranked prospect in the 2026 class, according to both 247Sports and Rivals. He is listed at 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, and plays for Grimsley High.
Despite being unranked on either Rivals or 247Sports, Barnes has received a ton of attention on the recruiting trail. According to the two recruiting services, Barnes holds offers from Michigan State, Louisville, Cincinnati, Kentucky, South Carolina, Rutgers, Appalachian State, Charlotte, Eastern Kentucky, FIU, Gardner-Webb, James Madison, Liberty, Marshall, North Carolina A&T and Old Dominion.
