LSU’s Whit Weeks is projected to be one of the top linebackers in the 2026 NFL Draft, according to an early mock draft from The Athletic’s Dane Brugler.
The reporter slots Weeks as the No. 25 overall pick to the Washington Commanders. He would be third linebacker taken behind Texas’ Anthony Hill and Georgia’s CJ Allen and the second Tiger behind quarterback Garrett Nussmeier.
“Weeks was a tackling machine for the Tigers last season and looked like a future early-round pick,” Brugler said.
Weeks turned in a breakout sophomore season as he started all but two games and led the team with 125 tackles. He also totaled 10 tackles for loss, 3.5 sacks, six quarterback hurries, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and an interception.
Weeks made 17 tackles apiece against Alabama and Oklahoma. He was off to a strong start in the Kinder’s Texas Bowl, making six tackles in the first half, before he was carted off the field with an injury in the second quarter. His draft stock will almost certainly rise should he get off to a strong start in 2025 and prove that the injury won’t limit his productivity moving forward.
