Post-spring College Football Playoff rank for Ducks

The Oregon Ducks wrapped up their spring football season on Saturday with the annual spring game, and now we enter the second long stretch of the offseason unit fall camp rolls around in August. It has been an entertaining last month, though, as teams across the nation took part in spring camp and broke in new players and new rosters.

It wasn’t just the Ducks who got to see what their new team looks like after the 2024 season, but all of the top teams in the nation. While it’s still too early to have a perfect sense of what the power balance will look like once the season rolls around, we can at least have a better idea of who the top teams will be now that the transfer portal is closed and a majority of rosters are set.

For the Ducks, there are high expectations once again in 2025 after winning the Big Ten Championship and earning the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff a year ago. While there is still a question at the quarterback position between Dante Moore and Austin Novosad, the talent around them is among the best in the nation, and Lanning should be able to ride this team to another double-digit-win season when all is said and done, and one of the 12 College Football Playoff spots.

Here’s where we project they will stack up in the 12-team field next season.

Note: For this exercise, we are keeping the same format as in 2024 — four automatic byes go to the top-ranked conference champions. This is something that will be discussed as a potential change this offseason, but until anything concrete happens, we will keep the status quo.
