Outlook on Godby
Godby may have lost a lot of talent through graduation and transfer, but the Cougars gain talent as well. After losing Lazarus Chambers to Gadsden County, the Cougars landed Landon Dougherty to elevate their passing game.
Dougherty, fresh off playing in the state championship, will be creating new chemistry with his go-to target and four-star prospect Jamarin Simmons, who is also entering his junior year. Simmons led the Cougars with 49 catches, 996 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He holds 13 offers, including FSU, Florida, Wisconsin and Clemson.
Other players to watch are Kaleb Barnes, who will be anchoring the offensive and defensive line. The 6-foot-5, 280-pound senior is an FIU commit. Devin Anderson will lead the secondary. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound safety recorded 58 tackles and five picks.
