Texas A&M offers 2026 4-star safety Chance Collins

Texas A&M coach Mike Elko’s defensive background has helped him on the recruiting trail over the past two offseasons, and with eleven commitments in the 2026 class, the job is no way near finished, as Elko and his staff have continued fielding offers, including rising four-star safety Chance Collins, who continues to impress ahead of his senior season at Mansfield Timberview.

Like most prospects with the versatility to play both sides of the ball, Collins has stood out at wide receiver and safety, but is being recruited as a safety due to his size, speed, and defensive instincts, coming off his impressive 2024 junior season. Standing at 6’1″ and 185 pounds, Collins has received nearly 20 offers, as Utah, and Oklahoma State have stood out early i the process.

However, until Texas A&M offered, Collins has not garnered much interest from the SEC, which proves that Elko is a head of the pack when it comes to noting potential, especially in the Secondary. During his 2024 season, Colling recorded 310 receiving yards and two touchdowns, and even more notable, 20 tackles, two tackles for loss, eight pass deflections, and six interceptions as a cornerback.

Poised to grow into his frame, Collin’s ball hawk-like skillset translates seamlessly at the next level, as Elko and defensive back coaches Jordan Peterson and Ishmael Aristide will have a plan for him as soon as he steps on campus.

According to 247Sports, Collins is currently positioned as the 31st-ranked safety prospect and the 54th-ranked prospect in Texas.
