Vanderbilt football lands OL Orion Irving of Sam Houston State

Vanderbilt football coach Clark Lea added another player to his roster May 1 when offensive lineman Orion Irving announced his commitment to the Commodores on X.

Irving, a 6-foot-6, 310-pound transfer from Sam Houston State will be a redshirt junior.

After redshirting his freshman season, Irving started five games and played in 10 in 2023, when he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman team.

He played in 10 games last season and helped Sam Houston to a 10-3 record and a victory against Georgia Southern in the New Orleans Bowl.
