Zavion Griffin-Hayes teases an announcement about his recruitment

Notre Dame football has been recruiting at a level that we haven’t seen often, and it looks like that could continue with 2026 North Carolina defensive end Zavion Griffin-Hayes.

The 6-foot, 6-inch and 235-pound prospect is coming off a visit to South Bend in early April, one the many visits that he took during spring practices. As the nation’s No. 222 overall prospect according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Griffin-Hayes is one to most coveted players in the country.

While Notre Dame already has commitments from two defensive ends in Rodney Dunham and Ebenezer Ewetade, the staff is clearly looking for a third in the class. They all have very similar frames, long, lean and athletic, and it’s clear that Griffin-Hayes is one of the top targets on their recruiting board.

While we don’t know the specifics of his upcoming announcement, whatever it is, Notre Dame has put itself in a great position to land the talented end.
