ORLANDO — Nearly five months after reappointing Scott Frost as its football coach, UCF’s athletics association released the terms of his five-year contract on May 5.
Frost will earn $22.1 million guaranteed through the 2029 season, according to an executive summary distributed to The News-Journal. His contract runs from July 1, 2025 until June 30, 2030, and Frost will earn the prorated amount of $3.8 million from his hiring date of Dec. 8, 2024 until June 30.
In addition, Frost’s contract will be guaranteed for a sixth season — at the rate of $5.25 million — for any bowl appearance.
As for a potential buyout, Frost would be owed 75% of his remaining guaranteed compensation if fired without cause by UCF. There are also separate buyout amounts inserted into the contract for each year should Frost resign, starting with $6.5 million on or before June 30, 2026.
