Cam Coleman and Eric Singleton will be major weapons in Auburn’s offense this season.
Auburn football fans need something to cheer about, and this season could provide an opportunity to boost morale surrounding the fan base.
This season, Auburn’s offense will be led by Oklahoma transfer quarterback Jackson Arnold. Arnold, a former five-star quarterback and Gatorade Player of the Year from Texas, will get a fresh start by having two of the SEC’s best wide receivers to throw to.
Will Rosenblatt of LSU Wire recently ranked the SEC’s best wide receivers, and two Auburn Tigers were included. Georgia Tech transfer Eric Singleton takes the No. 7 spot in Rosenblatt’s rankings while Cam Coleman slides in at No. 2.
Singleton, the No. 1 wide receiver from the transfer portal, led Georgia Tech in receiving the last two seasons with 1,468 yards and nine touchdowns. Rosenblatt feels that Singleton’s game will translate well to the SEC.
He’s elite after the catch, but there have been drop issues. If you’re concerned about his move to the SEC, look no further than his performance vs. UGA, where he put up 86 yards and scored a touchdown.
Coleman had a slow start to his Auburn career, but a change in game plan brought out his true potential over the final three games of the season. Over the last three games of the 2024 season, Coleman caught 22 of 25 targeted passes for 306 yards and six touchdowns, which blew past his production of the first eight games of the season.
If the trend continues into 2025, Rosenblatt predicts the Tigers’ sophomore to earn a special accolade at season’s end.
Auburn’s quarterback situation was messy last year, which limited receiver production. If the Tigers’ passing attack is improved, Coleman can be an All-American in 2025.
Auburn joined LSU and Alabama by having two wide receivers on Rosenblatt’s list….
