Where did the SEC ranked in USA TODAY Sports lates 1-136 re-rank?

The 2024 college football season ushered in the beginning of a new era. A 16-team SEC and a 12-team playoff highlighted a wild year in college football. But 2025 has a chance to be even more unpredictable.

A number of the best teams from last season are undergoing a quarterback change this offseason. Teams like Oregon, Ohio State, and Notre Dame, while in the SEC, there will be a lot of new faces at the helm. Texas, Ole Miss, Alabama, Georgia, Oklahoma, Missouri, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Auburn will all have new quarterbacks starting for their respective programs.

Now that spring ball is behind us, college football experts across the sport are ranking the best in the nation. Joel Klatt of Fox Sports shared his top 25, and Paul Myerburg of USA TODAY Sports released his latest 1-136 re-rank. So how did the SEC stack up in the newest re-rank?

1. Texas Longhorns

The Georgia Bulldogs are coming off an SEC title and they beat Texas twice last year. Kirby Smart has a stacked roster but a question at quarterback is the only reason they’re behind the Longhorns.

7. LSU Tigers

The LSU Tigers have one of the most experienced signal callers in college football in Garrett Nussmeier. Will that translate to a College Football Playoff berth?

10. Alabama Crimson Tide

Alabama failed to meet expectations in year one of the Kalen Deboer era, but his history suggests he’ll have the Tide contending for everything in 2025.
