Auburn fans have become restless whether it’s the outlook for the 2025 season or beyond. On the recruiting side of things, the outlook has been bleak thanks to a fairly slow 2026 cycle.
However, on Thursday night, the Tigers joined the small group of schools with a five-star pledge now committed to their program.Flowood (Miss.) Hartfield Academy five-star safety Bralan Womack announced his commitment to the Tigers, choosing Auburn over Florida, Ohio State, and Texas A&M.
247Sports ranks the 5-11.5, 195-pounder as the No. 13 player in the class, the No. 1 safety, and No. 2 player out of the Magnolia State.
Womack is coming off a massive junior season that saw him named as the Mississippi Gatorade Player of the Year. He led the Hawks to a 12-2 record and the MAIS 6A state title, totaling 39 tackles and eight interceptions, including four returned for touchdowns.
Offensively, he caught 54 passes for 1,045 yards and 13 touchdowns.
Womack was also a weapon on special teams, with both kick and punt returns for a touchdown.
Womack just what Freeze needed in 2026 class
To say that Auburn’s 2026 class is a disappointment to Tiger fans would be an understatement.
Between the rush of flips and decommitments that the summer typically brings, Auburn was hit particularly hard. Prior to Womack, the Tigers had just 12 commitments in their class. According to 247Sports, their class ranks 54th nationally and 14th in the SEC.
While it may be a smaller class than what other traditional SEC powerhouses currently have, the Tigers aren’t devoid of talent.
Of their now 13 pledges, five rank as top-200 prospects. Womack and four-star linebacker Jaquez Wilkes are the two ranked in the top-100.
